The PA Department of Education (PDE)is recruiting PA educators and stakeholders to serve on two committees that will help review, revise, and/or recommend new Pennsylvania academic standards* for:
According to the Department of Education: “The purpose of the Committees is to determine whether the existing standards are appropriate, clear, specific and challenging. [and if]…the standards should be revised, …develop recommendations for updated standards for consideration by the State Board of Education...This committees will be composed of a limited number of educators and professionals from across the commonwealth who have content and/or professional expertise in the field."

All educators can apply for consideration by PDE. Candidates must complete the Appropriate PDE Academic Standards Committee Application by 5:00 pm on February 7, 2025:
After applying through the PDE application system, members who would like to serve specifically as a PSEA representative or who would like to nominate a colleague to represent PSEA on a committee should email Gina Gullo at Ggullo@psea.org for additional information. The deadline to recommend candidates to Gina also is 5 pm on February 7.
Please note that PSEA seeks geographic and other types of diversity among recommended candidates and so while all members are invited to apply to PDE independently, not every qualified member may be asked to represent PSEA.
