Course Description: Blooket is a FREE, online tool that educators can use for student assessment, content review, and more. Blooket blends educational review games with the same principals of gamification used by popular video games to get and keep students engaged--even if they are not traditionally the ones leading the class in review games. In this course, learners will learn the basics of using Blooket and take a deeper dive into the variety of games and classroom applications Blooket can offer. Participants will both create their own Blooket content and enjoy content created by union siblings in this interactive course. Designed for any educator who designs or delivers content to students, this course will get you from asking "What's a Blooket" to being the local Blooket guru in no time!

Course Hours: Members who complete this course receive 5 HOURS of Act 48 and/or a certificate that may apply for Chapter 14 hours. Your employer has sole discretion to determine if this course qualifies for Chapter 14 hours.

Course Hours

PSEA Members who complete this course receive 5 HOURS of Act 48 and/or a certificate that may apply for Chapter 14 hours. Your employer has sole discretion to determine if this course qualifies for Chapter 14 hours. As an approved Act 48 provider, PSEA is required by the PA Department of Education to gather information to confirm course completion and collect feedback on every course. Additionally, your PPID must be included in your PSEA.org user information for PSEA to report any Act 48 hours you earn. You can update your PPID at: https://www.psea.org/my-PSEA/profile/

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the learning will be able to: • Build question sets in Blooket by making use of existing questions or creating their own questions. • Engage students by hosting Blooket games for entertainment, learning, content review and/or assessment. • Decide on the most appropriate Blooket game mode based on student needs. • Practice the skills obtained in this course in their professional role.

Course Requirements

To successfully complete this course, participants must:

• Complete the required activities in Part 1:

• View/read all pages in "Getting Started in Blooket",

• View and browse the "Key Terms Glossary",

• Create a Blooket non-student account if you do not already have one,

Complete the "Blooket Account Attestation".

• Complete the required activities in Part 2:

• View/read and earn passing score(s) in "Question Set Basics",

• Find a Blooket question set that you might use with students,

Share the Blooket question set you found in the "Share Your Faves" database,

• View/read and earn passing score(s) in "Creating Question Sets",

• Create a Blooket question set that meets the criteria in the "Question Set Checklist",

Check off each criteria to signify that your Question Set meets each,

Share your Blooket question set in the "Share Your Content" database.

• Complete the required activities in Part 3:

• View/read and earn passing score(s) in "Blooket Game Modes",

• Try three Blooket game modes using the shared Blooket Live streams,

Share you experience with each of the three game modes by making three replies in the "Blooket Game Mode Experience" forum,

• View/read and earn passing score(s) in "How to Engage Students in Blooket Games",

• Import one of the Question Sets shared in the "Share Your Content" database (not your own) into your own Blooket account,

Play the imported Question Set in solo mode,

Add a comment to the "Share Your Content" database entry for the chosen question set that provides feedback on the Question Set,

• Assign your Question Set (from "Share Your Content") as homework and complete the confirmation and link sharing items in the "How to Engage Students in Blooket Games" lesson.

• Complete the required activities in Part 4:

• View/read and earn passing score(s) in "Using Your Blooket Data with Reports",

• Engage in the "Blooket Scenario Activity" until you reach a "successful ending"

• Complete the guided planning questionnaire in "Using Blooket Games with Students."

• Confirm completion of all required activities by completing the Confirmation Attestation,*
• Provide feedback by completing the Feedback to PSEA about this Course questionnaire.*

*Note: As a PA Department of Education-approved Act 48 provider, PSEA must gather information to confirm course completion and collect feedback on every course.
