The new Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability (STEELS) academic standards are now in effect, but what does that mean?! Join Dr. Gina Gullo for a walk through the policy and process that led to the STEELS standards and how the new standards change instruction and assessment practices. Then, take a deep-dive into the actual standards with a closer look at the three dimensional learning framework that supports each standard through practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas. Finally, take a tour of the wealth of resources from the PA Department of Education on the STEELS Hub designed to provide the support and implementation resources you need for a positive and successful experience. has available to support your implementation. This session is designed for elementary teachers, middle and high school science teachers, paraprofessionals, instructional coaches, library and technology specialists, and educators involved in curriculum planning.
Learning Hours: Those who attend and participate in the webinar will earn 1.5 Act 48 hours or a certificate of completion that may be submitted for possible Chapter 14 hours.
Please note, educators may only earn Act 48 hours for one completion of a course. This course is identical to the "Intro to the 3D Science Standards" course. If you already earned hours for completing that course, you are welcome to join this session but cannot earn hours for completing the course again.
