Academic Standards Update 2026: What’s New & What’s in Review?

Course Description: Academic Standards are under review and your voice matters! This session dives into the timeline of new standards going into effect in 2026-27 (Economics, Personal Finance, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Career Education & Work), standards currently under review (Arts & Humanities and Health, Safety, & Physical Education), and ongoing preparations for the next standards to be reviewed (English Language Arts and Mathematics). Participants will gain insights on what to expect in the coming years, how they can share their input, and support from the PA Department of Education to assist with the implementation of the standards. This session is designed for anyone who uses academic standards in their planning for instruction, support, or goal development; however, those with an interest in the academic standards development process may also find the session informative.

Learning Hours: Members who complete this course receive 1.5 hours  of Act 48 and/or a certificate that may apply for Chapter 14 hours. Your employer has sole discretion to determine if this course qualifies for Chapter 14 hours.
