LIVE Session: September 23, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Course Description: Structured Literacy, Evidence-Based Reading Instruction, and the Science of Reading all seem to be the latest jargon in elementary education, but what does it all mean? Join Dr. Gina Gullo for a deep dive into the legislative changes and implementation timelines and what they mean for you and your students. Start by clarifying the meaning of each term, where they came from, and the root of the evidence base. Then, learn more about updated requirements relating to curriculum selection, professional development, literacy screening, and student supports mandated by recent policy. Bring your questions and concerns and leave with a better understanding of what elementary and middle school educators, reading specialists, and special education teachers can expect in the coming years. Please note that this session is informational only and designed to provide Act 48 hours but DOES NOT MEET ANY STRUCTURED LITERACY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENT.
Presenter: Dr. Gina L. Gullo, Ed.D., M.Ed.
