About this session: 7-8:30 p.m.
This session delves into the differences between multiculturalism, critical race theory (CRT), and social justice. It explores how educators can begin to implement and actualize a platform of multicultural curricula, culturally responsive pedagogy, and social justice practices within the classroom to work towards fostering increased equity for all students. Based on the work of experts such as Dr. James Banks, Zaretta Hammond and her book Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain, and many others, participants will emerge from the session with an enhanced understanding and a myriad of strategies and resources for actualizing a culturally responsive and more social justice and equity-focused classroom and school community.
Instructor: Dr. Chris M. Clayton Sr., NBCT, Ph.D.
