Classroom Equity Audits Webinar (with optional Book Study)

Description:
This practical professional learning session is based on McKenzie and Sklra’s book, “Using Equity Audits in the Classroom to Reach and Teach ALL Students.” After reviewing the concept of a school-wide equity audit, participants will learn how to audit their classroom for teaching and learning, discipline, parental involvement, and programmatic equity. Educators leave this session with everything they need to begin their classroom equity audits. This session is designed for classroom teachers and education support professionals and may not be relevant to other educators.
Optional add-on: To earn an additional 4.5 Act 48 hours or a certificate of completion (6 hours total), you can complete the “Using Equity Audits in the Classroom to Reach and Teach ALL Students” book study. To complete the book study, you must Read McKenzie and Skrla’s Using Equity Audits in the Classroom to Reach and Teach All Students, complete the book study guide, and submit it to ProfessionalLearning@psea.org no later than Wednesday, February 14th, and participate in the webinar on Thursday, February 15th.
Learning Hours:
Those who attend only the webinar portion of “Classroom Equity Audits” will earn 1.5 Act 48 hours or a certificate of completion.
Those who complete all elements of the Webinar AND Book Study will earn six (6) Act 48 hours or a certificate of completion. The hour breakdown is:
• 3.25 hours for reading the book.
• 1.25 hours for completing this book study guide.
• 1.5 hours for attending the webinar session.

Completers will receive the designated amount of Act 48 hours or a certificate to
submit to their administrator for possible Chapter 14 hours. Chapter 14
eligibility is determined by the school administrator.
